For many Wisconsin families, summer begins with a familiar tradition.

Your first step should be documenting everything. Take photographs and videos before moving items or beginning cleanup. This information can be extremely valuable if you need to file an insurance claim later.
Next, focus on preventing further damage if it can be done safely. This may include removing standing water, placing a tarp over an exposed area of roof, or shutting off utilities if necessary.
Then contact your insurance carrier and begin the claims process.
