For years, I’ve had the privilege of watching something beautiful unfold inside Mountain Elite. This sanctuary has never been just a place for massage, movement, or wellness. Here, we witness what can happen when people choose to care for themselves consistently, year after year.
Lori Smith walked through our doors eight years ago as she began her journey into distance running. Today, she is an incredible ultra runner. Watching her dedication, resilience, and love for movement has been inspiring. Her story reminds me that extraordinary things often begin with ordinary choices repeated over time.
Then there’s Jody Levi. Swimmer. Hiker. Cyclist. Amazing baker. One of the most energetic women you’ll ever meet. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious, and her commitment to staying active continues to amaze me. She proves that age isn’t something to fear. It’s something to embrace with strength, joy, and purpose.
Samantha Fox entered my life during my own healing journey after a shoulder injury. She became my Pilates instructor and so much more. As a breast cancer survivor, she carries a quiet strength that inspires everyone around her. She reminds me that healing isn’t only about recovering, but discovering how resilient we truly are.
And then there’s Jan Gaumer, one of my very first clients when I made this beautiful valley my home. Through surgeries, challenges, and life’s unexpected turns, Jan continues to show up with grace, kindness, and a smile that lights up a room. She has taught me more about perseverance than she’ll probably ever know.
These four incredible women aren’t celebrities. They’re something even more meaningful to me. They’re real-life warriors.
When I look around our valley, I don’t see famous faces. I see people quietly choosing courage every single day. I see mothers, grandmothers, athletes, survivors, neighbors, and friends who keep showing up, even when life feels heavy.
The truth is, I don’t wake up every morning with a smile on my face or endless energy. None of us do. We all carry struggles that others may never see. Life can be hard. Sometimes incredibly hard. But what gives me hope is knowing we don’t have to walk through it alone. I believe the Heber Valley is filled with opportunities to lift one another up. From wellness centers, to walking trails, Pilates classes, church, coffee shops, or simply a warm hug and a genuine smile, healing often begins with connection.
My hope is that Mountain Elite continues to be a place where people feel seen, encouraged, and reminded that they matter. The greatest wellness treatment isn’t found in a service. I think it’s found in knowing someone believes in you.
I have been blessed to know women like Lori, Jody, Samantha, and Jan, whose lives continue to remind me that strength isn’t measured by accolades or headlines. The trophy is the courage to keep showing up, one day at a time.
