Hi! My name is Bobbi Jo.
My husband, Jim, and I moved to beautiful Prescott Valley in March of 2010 from Wickenburg, Arizona. Like many families at the time, we were still feeling the effects of the housing market crash. Jim had spent years in construction, but work had become difficult to find, so he accepted a position with a local roofing company.
During his time there, Jim’s work ethic and leadership were noticed, and he was recruited by one of the nation’s largest restoration companies. For nearly ten years, he worked as a Project Manager and Estimator, helping homeowners restore and rebuild their homes after unexpected damage. Those years gave him valuable experience managing projects, working with subcontractors, solving problems, and understanding what homeowners need during stressful situations.
Then came a project much closer to home—our own.
In 2018 and 2019, Jim and I built what we hoped would be our forever home. We imagined the process would be exciting, filled with anticipation as we watched our dream take shape. Instead, it became one of the most frustrating experiences we’ve ever had.
Throughout the entire build, we never met our project manager or many of the contractors working on our home. Communication was almost nonexistent. We found ourselves visiting the job site constantly to make sure things were being done correctly because we simply didn’t know what was happening or who to ask.
Even after we moved in, the experience didn’t improve. Contractors would schedule warranty repairs, then never showed up or called to let us know they weren’t coming. We were left waiting, wondering, and feeling like our concerns didn’t matter.
One day I looked at Jim and said, “You need to start your own general contracting company.”
Not because we thought we could do everything differently—but because we knew homeowners deserved better.
We believed people deserved a contractor who would answer the phone, return calls, show up when they said they would, communicate honestly, and treat every home with the same care and respect they would expect in their own.
That’s how Level Up Builders was born.
Today, those same values guide every project we take on. Whether we’re remodeling a kitchen, transforming a bathroom, or building a custom home, we believe exceptional craftsmanship is only part of the job. Equally important is earning our clients’ trust through honesty, reliability, and consistent communication from the first meeting to the final walkthrough.
Your home is one of the biggest investments you’ll ever make. More importantly, it’s where your life happens. It’s where birthdays are celebrated, holidays are shared, grandchildren visit, and memories are made. We never forget that when someone invites us into their home, they’re placing their trust in us.
Our hope is that every homeowner we work with feels heard, respected, and confident throughout the remodeling process. Because at the end of the day, we’re not just building beautiful spaces—we’re building lasting relationships.
Sometimes the experiences that challenge us the most become the reason we can better serve others. Looking back, I’m grateful for the frustrations we experienced while building our own home, because they shaped the foundation of Level Up Builders and reminded us that quality craftsmanship and genuine communication should always go hand in hand.
