My journey into body sculpting began long before I entered the aesthetics industry. After nearly 20 years in healthcare, burnout took a significant toll. Like many healthcare professionals, I became accustomed to caring for everyone else while gradually forgetting to care for myself. Emotional eating contributed to weight gain, and eventually I barely recognized the person looking back at me.
When I began focusing on my health and losing weight, I incorporated Cryosculpting treatments into my journey. Seeing visible changes while I was still working toward my goal was incredibly motivating. That experience ultimately changed the direction of my career.
As a registered nurse, I approach body sculpting through the lens of anatomy, technology, safety and realistic expectations. Cryosculpting is not a weight-loss treatment or a replacement for healthy nutrition and exercise. It is a noninvasive body-contouring option designed to complement an established wellness routine by targeting stubborn areas and supporting a firmer, more sculpted appearance.
One misconception I frequently encounter is that Cryosculpting and CoolSculpting are the same treatment. CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis with an applicator positioned on the treatment area to destroy fat cells and carries potential risks, including permanent damage. The Cryosculpting approach I use is performed manually with controlled temperatures and specific massage techniques while the tissue is continually monitored. This approach is designed to support fat reduction while promoting skin tightening through stimulation of fibrin and collagen production without risk of permanent damage.
I am particularly passionate about incorporating body sculpting during weight loss rather than automatically waiting until goal weight is reached. As the body becomes smaller, the skin does not always contract at the same rate. Age, genetics, the amount of weight lost and how long the skin has been stretched can influence its appearance.
Cryosculpting protocols designed for toning may support smoother, firmer-looking skin while the body is changing. Cryosculpting cannot fully treat significant loose skin. More pronounced laxity may require advanced skin-tightening technology such as XERF. However, addressing contour and skin appearance throughout weight loss can be an important part of the overall transformation.
CryoFacials
CryoFacials offer a chemical-free, noninvasive approach to visible signs of aging on the face and neck. Using controlled cooling and specialized massage techniques, treatments are designed to support circulation, stimulate collagen production and promote a firmer, refreshed appearance without injections, harsh chemicals or downtime. They may help improve the appearance of fine lines, puffiness, loss of firmness and uneven texture while supporting the skin’s natural renewal processes.
Treatments can also be individualized for the abdomen, waist, flanks, thighs or arms, with protocols emphasizing contour, skin tone, firmness or the appearance of cellulite.
Ultimately, body sculpting is about more than inches or a number on a scale. For many people, it is about recognizing themselves again. I know that feeling because I have lived it. Helping someone feel comfortable in a dress, confident in a photograph or happier looking in the mirror may sound cosmetic – but feeling good in your own skin can be part of finding yourself again. Enhancing beauty, restoring confidence.
