Building a Statewide Community for California’s Pets

For many California families, loving a pet is easy. Accessing affordable veterinary care is not.

Across the state, pet owners face rising veterinary costs and limited access to affordable spay, neuter and emergency medical services. These barriers affect more than individual families—they can contribute to unplanned litters, overcrowded shelters and pets going without essential care.

At SNIP, we believe creating lasting change requires more than bringing veterinary services into communities that need them. It requires building a community around the mission itself.

This fall, SNIP is bringing Californians together through four community‑focused fundraising events, each with its own personality but one shared purpose: creating a better future for California pets.

The season begins September 14 with SNIP’s 3rd Annual Golf Tournament at Crazy Horse Ranch, bringing supporters together for a day of friendly competition and meaningful impact.

On October 2, Paws & Pints at Hooby’s Farm offers another way for the community to connect, enjoy an evening together and rally behind SNIP’s mission.

On October 24, the inaugural Paws for a Cause Gala at Corral de Tierra Country Club brings that mission to Monterey County with an evening dedicated to supporting animals, building community and creating change.

Then, on November 7, SNIP heads to Bakersfield for the inaugural Paws & Pearls Dinner at Stockdale Country Club, continuing to grow a network of supporters across California.

While these events raise critical funds, their impact extends far beyond a single evening. Community‑focused fundraising creates conversations. It raises awareness about why accessible spay and neuter services matter, why emergency medical resources are critical, and how preventive veterinary care can help keep pets healthy and with the families who love them.

Most importantly, every gathering introduces more people to a shared mission.

As SNIP continues expanding its impact across California, our goal is not simply to provide more services. It is to build a statewide community of advocates, donors, volunteers and pet lovers who recognize that meaningful change begins locally—and grows when communities come together.

Because when Californians show up for pets in their own communities, that impact can reach across the state—changing lives, one paw at a time.
