What is unique about your area of expertise?
Dentistry is unique because it combines healthcare, artistry, technology, and human connection. As a cosmetic, implant, and family dentist, I do much more than repair teeth. I help patients regain their comfort, confidence, and quality of life.
At Soft Hands Dental, we approach dentistry conservatively and comprehensively. That means looking beyond a single tooth and considering the health, function, and appearance of the entire smile. Whether someone needs preventive care, a natural-looking restoration, dental implants, or a complete smile transformation, our goal is to create results that are beautiful, functional, and designed to last.
The name “Soft Hands Dental” was inspired by something patients have told me throughout my career: “Doctora, tiene buena mano”—“Doctor, you have gentle hands.” That same gentleness influences every part of the experience we provide.

What is the best part of what you do every day?
The best part is seeing how dentistry can change the way someone feels about themselves. Some patients arrive covering their mouths when they smile, avoiding photographs, or feeling embarrassed about their teeth. Watching them smile freely again is incredibly rewarding.
I also love helping patients who have felt anxious or avoided the dentist for years. When someone finishes an appointment and tells me, “That was much easier than I expected,” I know we have accomplished something important. We have not only treated their teeth—we have started changing their relationship with dentistry.
How does your business impact individuals, families, and the community?
Oral health influences far more than a person’s smile. It affects the ability to eat comfortably, speak confidently, sleep well, and enjoy everyday life. By providing comprehensive care in one welcoming environment, we help individuals and families establish healthier habits and address problems before they become painful or complicated.
We are also proud to serve patients at many stages of life—from a child’s first dental visit to helping an adult replace missing teeth or rediscover confidence through cosmetic dentistry. Our goal is to become a trusted dental home where Wellington-area families feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for.
As a local, family-owned practice, this community is personal to us. We live here, raise our daughter here, attend church here, and build relationships with the same families we see around town. Soft Hands Dental was created to be a place of light, kindness, calm, and clinical excellence.

What might people not know about dentistry?
Many dental conditions develop quietly. Cavities, gum disease, bite-related damage, and even infections may not cause noticeable pain in their early stages. By the time something hurts, treatment can be more extensive and costly. Routine examinations and diagnostic imaging allow us to identify concerns early, when treatment may be simpler and more conservative.
Modern technology has also transformed what is possible in dentistry. Digital scanning, three-dimensional imaging, guided implant planning, and advanced materials can make care more precise and comfortable. However, technology is only a tool. It must be combined with sound clinical judgment, careful planning, and an understanding of each patient’s individual needs.
What are your best pieces of advice for patients?
First, do not wait for pain before visiting the dentist. Preventive care is almost always easier and less expensive than treating an advanced problem.
Second, pay attention to bleeding gums. Although common, bleeding during brushing or flossing should not be considered normal. It may be an early sign of inflammation or gum disease.
Third, ask questions and understand your options. Patients deserve to know which treatment is urgent, which is preventive, and which is elective. A good treatment plan should reflect your health, priorities, lifestyle, and budget.
Finally, remember that maintaining your natural teeth is a long-term investment. Daily brushing, consistent flossing, professional cleanings, a balanced diet, and protection from clenching or grinding can make an enormous difference over a lifetime.

What are one or two things potential patients might not know about Soft Hands Dental?
Patients may not realize how intentionally we designed the experience. We understand that visiting the dentist can feel intimidating, so we created a modern, calming environment where patients are not rushed and their concerns are taken seriously. Our comfort-focused amenities and gentle approach are designed to help even anxious patients feel more at ease.
We also provide a wide range of care under one roof, including cosmetic smile design, dental implants, clear aligners, and restorative dentistry. This allows us to develop cohesive treatment plans and maintain continuity throughout a patient’s care.
Most importantly, we believe in honest and conservative recommendations. We explain what needs immediate attention, what can be monitored, and what is optional. Our purpose is not simply to perform treatment; it is to help patients make informed decisions and keep their teeth healthy for as long as possible.

How will dentistry impact the community in the future?
The future of dentistry will be increasingly preventive, personalized, and technology-driven. Earlier detection, digital planning, minimally invasive techniques, and more natural-looking materials will continue to improve patient comfort and treatment outcomes.
At Soft Hands Dental, patients can expect us to continue investing in advanced education and thoughtful technology while preserving the personal connection that defines our practice. As we grow, we hope to expand our community involvement, welcome more local families, and remain a trusted resource for comprehensive, cosmetic, and implant dentistry.
Our vision is simple: to help people become healthier, feel more confident, and change the way they feel about going to the dentist—one experience at a time.
