Medicare Annual Enrollment Period – October 15th – December 7th.

For people on Medicare, this is a very important time of year. It’s time to review your coverage, learn about any changes and compare your options.

If you are currently in a Medicare Advantage plan or Part D Prescription Drug Plan, you should have received your Annual Notice of Change. This is sent out in September to inform you of any changes to your current plan for 2027. Although this is a very important document, it only refers to the plan that you are currently enrolled in. The insurance carriers, agents, and brokers are not permitted to discuss all your 2027 options until October 1st. At that time, you can start comparing your options. Clarity Group is here to make that process easier. Enrollment into plans can be done starting October 15th.

Clarity Group is an agency that is dedicated to helping people with Medicare. Clarity Group is here to help when you first become eligible for Medicare and every year after.

Medicare health and drug plans can change from year to year, including costs, covered benefits, provider and pharmacy networks, and prescription drug coverage. Even if your plan worked well this year, it may not be the best fit next year. Reviewing plan details during Annual Enrollment can help beneficiaries avoid unexpected costs and gaps in coverage.

During Annual Enrollment, beneficiaries may switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan, move from Medicare Advantage back to Original Medicare, change from one Medicare Advantage plan to another, or join, drop, or switch a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.

What to Review Before Making a Decision:

  • Check whether your doctors, hospitals, and preferred pharmacies are in the plan’s network.
  • Review monthly premiums, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and annual out-of-pocket limits.
  • Compare prescription drug coverage, including whether your medications are on the plan’s formulary and what tier they fall under.
  • Look for changes in extra benefits such as dental, vision, hearing, transportation, fitness, or over-the-counter allowances.

Your Clarity Group agent can do all of this for you.

Prescription Drug Coverage Updates

For 2027, Medicare Part D continues to change. The maximum prescription deductible will increase from the 2026 amount of $615 to $700. The annual out-of-pocket threshold for covered Part D drugs will increase from $2,100 to $2400 in 2027. Because drug costs and formularies can vary by plan, beneficiaries should compare their medications carefully before the December 7 deadline.

Choosing the Right Plan

This is a very individual choice. What’s right for your family and friends, may not be right for you. There are many factors to consider, including the doctors you see and medications you take. Other factors could include if you travel frequently and what extra benefits such as dental and vision are important to you. Your Clarity Group agent can explain the differences in plans and help determine which plan will best suit your needs

Our goal is to make the Medicare process as easy and as stress-free as possible for you. That’s just the beginning. When you work with Clarity Group, we are here to answer your questions all year round and our services are always at no cost to you.
