At Graff and Peterson Dental, we believe in offering the best dental services available for our patients. One of these services is the use of digital scanning technology to capture accurate impressions for diagnostic models, nightguards, clear retainers, implants, and crowns.

Digital scanning was first introduced to the general public in 1987 and since then has been greatly improved into what it is today. Using this technology allows us to create same day crowns that have a precise fit and strong durability. Prior to scanning technology, patients would have to wear a temporary crown for 2 to 4 weeks before their final crown could be placed. This technology eliminates the issues of temporary crowns coming off and the headache of coordinating time for two appointments. The scanner uses a high resolution pixel sensor that captures over 1 million 3D points per second to generate a digital 3D model. From a patient standpoint, the scanner eliminates the need for the traditional gooey impression material that makes a mess and causes discomfort. The design software allows our doctors to create a custom crown that fits in harmony with the rest of the patient’s bite, requiring little to no adjustments after the crown is placed. This scanning technology is one of the many modern tools we use to help our patients.

Health, however, is more than modern technology and diagnostic tests. How many times have you been in a healthcare setting and felt like you were rushed through your appointment? If you have felt this way, you are not alone. Understanding one’s health requires a thorough examination and intake of a patient’s history.

At Graff and Peterson Dental, we strive to understand and know our patients so we can best help them with their dental health. Our office prides itself on the time we take to listen to our patients’ concerns. When it comes to treatment, we educate our patients on their options so they can be an active participant in their dental health. If you are looking for personalized care, we are happy to help!
