Glaciers. Whales. Mountains. Adventure.

Some destinations are simply places you visit. Alaska is a place you experience.

Snowcapped mountains rise above deep blue waterways, massive glaciers stretch across the landscape, and humpback whales surface against a backdrop of seemingly endless wilderness. From the moment you arrive, Alaska feels bigger, wilder and more breathtaking than photographs can capture.

For travelers exploring by cruise, the journey is every bit as memorable as the destination. Each port offers a different glimpse into Alaska’s scenery, history, culture and wildlife.

Juneau

Alaska’s capital is surrounded by mountains and wilderness. Visit magnificent Mendenhall Glacier, explore scenic trails and waterfalls, or head onto the water for a whale-watching excursion. Juneau is also a wonderful place to take in panoramic views of the harbor and surrounding mountains.

Ketchikan

Known for its colorful waterfront and rich Alaska Native heritage, Ketchikan is packed with character. Stroll along historic Creek Street, discover impressive collections of hand-carved totem poles, or venture into Misty Fjords National Monument, where dramatic cliffs, waterfalls and pristine waterways create unforgettable scenery.

Skagway

Step back into the days of the Klondike Gold Rush in this historic town. One of Skagway’s signature experiences is the legendary White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, which climbs through rugged mountains, deep gorges and rushing waterfalls while following the path traveled by Gold Rush prospectors.

Sitka

Tlingit traditions, Russian heritage and abundant wildlife come together in Sitka. Explore Sitka National Historical Park, visit Fortress of the Bear, or see rescued bald eagles and other birds at the Alaska Raptor Center.

Icy Strait Point

Adventure takes center stage at Icy Strait Point. Watch for humpback whales, search for coastal brown bears, experience Tlingit culture, or soar high above the forest on the thrilling ZipRider.

More Than a Destination

That’s the magic of Alaska: no two days feel the same. You may wake to a glacier outside your window, spend the afternoon watching whales and find yourself riding a historic railway through the mountains the next morning.

Alaska isn’t simply somewhere you go. It’s an adventure you’ll be talking about long after you return home.
