How Summit Pointe Senior Living Built a Culture That Lasts.
When Summit Pointe first opened its doors in 2006, the vision was simple: create a place where seniors could thrive—not just reside. Twenty years later, that founding promise remains at the heart of everything we do.
Over the decades, our community has grown alongside the families we serve. We have welcomed more than 1,200 residents through our doors, celebrated countless birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones, and built something that feels less like a facility and more like a neighborhood.
So what has made Summit Pointe successful…The foundation of Summit Point’s success is simple but radical: Seniors deserve options, autonomy, and the freedom to shape their own daily experience. Instead of prescribing a one-size-fits-all lifestyle, Summit Pointe offers a spectrum of choices including opportunities to participate in the surrounding community.
To deepen that connection, Summit Pointe actively builds bridges beyond its walls-partnering with local schools; whether that be students, athletes or theatre groups, churches, service clubs, Marion Chamber of Commerce, and neighborhood organizations to create meaningful intergenerational and civic engagement. We welcome outside groups into the building and build relationships that enrich and strengthen our community by ensuring our tenants remain visible, valued and involved.
This approach recognizes something the industry often overlooks choice is dignity. When older adults can decide how they spend their time, who they spend it with and what brings meaning to their day, they thrive. It is not uncommon for our families tell us how their loved ones went from living alone or feeling alone to being surprised at how active they have become at Summit Pointe.
This anniversary year, we find ourselves reflecting on what makes a community endure. It is not the amenities or the architecture—though we are proud of both. It is the daily moments: choices and a sense of purpose for our tenants.
Tenants don’t move here for end-of-life assistance. They move here for an enriched life full of opportunities to make friends, explore interests, stay active, and continue evolving. Summit Pointe positions aging not as a decline, but as a continuation of personal growth.
This mindset shift is one of the reasons families choose Summit Pointe with confidence: they see it as a place where their loved ones will flourish.
Perhaps the most defining trait of Summit Pointe is its willingness to evolve. The leadership team listens closely to the needs, preferences, and ideas of its tenants, and they aren’t afraid to change courses when the community’s needs shift. When the men in our community told us they had interest in a woodshop, we built them a true garage style woodshop. Recently, some of our community members told us they regret giving up their hobby of sewing—so we built them a sewing room equipped with sewing machines. Now their motto is “no one works alone,” and our sewing experts work together on projects including supporting the Quilts of Valor program for local military veterans.
Summit Pointe Senior Living’s success isn’t accidental. It’s the product of intentional culture-building, thoughtful leadership, and a belief that seniors deserve more than care—they deserve connection, joy and opportunity.
It’s not a business.
It’s not a facility.
It’s a community—and that’s why it works.
