For financial advisor Jason Tholander, expanding North Atlantic Investment Partners into his hometown of Billerica is about more than business. It’s about continuing a family tradition of giving back.

For Jason Tholander, Managing Member of North Atlantic Investment Partners, choosing the location for his firm’s expansion was both a professional decision and a deeply personal one.

With approximately 25 years of experience in financial services, Jason has built his career helping individuals, families, and business owners navigate financial decisions and plan for their futures. As a leader of North Atlantic Investment Partners, an independent wealth management practice affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services, he understands the importance of relationships built on trust.

When the opportunity arose to open a second office, Jason knew exactly where he wanted to be.

Billerica. His hometown.

Returning to the community where he grew up was something Jason had hoped to do for years. It wasn’t simply about expanding the firm’s reach. It was about bringing his professional experience back to a place that had shaped his life and continuing a family tradition that means a great deal to him.

A Name Rooted in Community

For generations of Billerica residents, the Tholander name has been associated with dedication, leadership, and service.

Jason’s father, Otis Tholander, spent 25 years in the Billerica school system as an educator, wrestling coach, and mentor. Alongside longtime friend and fellow coach Vinny Viglione, he helped establish one of Massachusetts’ most successful high school wrestling programs.

His accomplishments earned him numerous honors, including Massachusetts Coach of the Year in 1989, induction into the Billerica High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005, and recognition by the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2010.

But for the students and families who knew him, Otis’s influence went far beyond wrestling.

He believed in preparing young people for life’s challenges, teaching lessons about perseverance, integrity, and personal responsibility. His impact wasn’t measured only in victories or championships, but in the confidence and character he helped build in those he coached and mentored.

It’s a legacy Jason carries with pride, even though his own career has taken him in a different direction.

Continuing a Tradition of Service

While his father’s work centered on education and athletics, Jason has dedicated his career to helping individuals and families prepare for their financial futures.

At first glance, coaching wrestling and providing financial guidance may seem like very different professions. But both require patience, trust, and a genuine commitment to helping others work toward their goals.

For Jason, those shared values make returning to Billerica especially meaningful.

Opening an office in his hometown gives him the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new clients, and contribute to a community that has been part of his family’s story for generations.

That milestone was celebrated on August 28, when family, friends, colleagues, and community leaders gathered for the ribbon cutting at North Atlantic Investment Partners’ new Billerica location.

Representatives from the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Billerica, and State Representative Marc Lombardo’s office joined the celebration, recognizing the firm’s expansion and its commitment to the local business community.

Jason and the firm also received recognition from the Massachusetts House of Representatives and the Chamber of Commerce, making the occasion even more memorable.

What made the day particularly meaningful was the opportunity to celebrate this new chapter surrounded by the people and community connections that helped make it possible.

Looking Ahead, Remembering Where It Began

For Jason, opening the Billerica office represents an important milestone in his professional journey. But it also brings his story full circle.

His father’s legacy was built in classrooms, school hallways, and on wrestling mats, where he spent years encouraging young people to believe in themselves and work toward something greater.

Today, Jason hopes to carry those same values into his own profession, helping individuals and families make thoughtful financial decisions and plan for the years ahead.

The work may be different, but the commitment to serving others remains.

And perhaps that’s what makes this homecoming so meaningful. Jason isn’t simply opening another office. He’s creating a new chapter in a community where his family’s story has deep roots.

For Jason Tholander, success isn’t just about where his business is going. It’s also about remembering where it all began.
