For Blue Sky Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric, taking care of Colorado homes is not simply a business—it is a family tradition more than a century in the making.

The Lanyon family’s plumbing tradition dates back to 1916. Today, Blue Sky is led by Jesse Lanyon, a fourth-generation Colorado Master Plumber who grew up around the business and began working with the company while he was still in high school.

After more than 20 years with Blue Sky, Jesse has worked in nearly every area of the company, giving him a unique perspective on both the business and the people who make it successful.

What began as a family plumbing tradition has grown into a full-service home services company with more than 80 employees, serving residential and commercial customers throughout Denver and the Front Range. Blue Sky provides plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical, indoor air quality, water quality and other essential home services—all while remaining 100 percent family-owned and Colorado-based.

Through four generations, the company’s philosophy has remained remarkably consistent – quality work, honest dealing, dependability and putting the customer first. Blue Sky believes in listening before starting a job, clearly explaining the problem and available options, and making sure customers understand the solution and cost before work begins.

It is what the company describes as a modern company with old-world values—using today’s technology, equipment and expertise while maintaining the personal service and integrity that have defined the business for generations.

For Jesse and the Blue Sky team, the most rewarding part of the work is the people. Whether restoring heat on a freezing Colorado morning, resolving a plumbing emergency or helping a family improve the comfort and efficiency of their home, there’s a genuine sense of purpose in making someone’s day a little better.

And no two days are ever quite the same. Blue Sky technicians travel in what the company affectionately calls ‘warehouses on wheels’, stocking their trucks with parts and supplies so they can often complete repairs without multiple trips. Sometimes the job brings an unexpected discovery, a particularly interested family pet or simply a good laugh with a customer.

That commitment to people extends beyond the homes Blue Sky serves. In 2026, the company began a four-year partnership with Gold Crown Foundation, becoming the naming rights partner of Keli McGregor Field at All-Star Park—now Blue Sky All-Star Park. The partnership supports Gold Crown’s work helping Colorado youth build teamwork, character and confidence through sports and enrichment programs.

Jesse and his wife, Christie, are both Wheat Ridge natives and continue to call the area home with their two daughters. For the Lanyon family and the entire Blue Sky team, being part of the Colorado community is about more than providing home services. It’s about being a neighbor people can count on.

Four generations. More than 100 years of family experience. One commitment – taking care of Colorado homes and the people who live in them.
