Serving Beyond the Table: A Season of Celebration and Giving at Andria’s

For nearly five decades, the holidays at Andria’s Steakhouse have been about more than what is served on the plate. They are about gathering around a table, celebrating milestones, reconnecting with family and friends, and creating the kinds of memories that often become traditions of their own.

This December, we are creating even more opportunities for those traditions by opening every Monday throughout the month of December, in addition to our regular operating days. For us, the decision is about making Andria’s available during one of the busiest—and most meaningful—times of the year. Whether it is a company holiday dinner, an evening with longtime friends, a family celebration, or simply a chance to slow down together during a hectic season, we want our restaurant to remain a place where people can gather.

But this year, we also want those celebrations to reach beyond our own tables.

As a third-generation family business, we believe being part of a community carries a responsibility to care for it. Last holiday season, our guests helped us raise more than $7,000 for Heartlinks Grief Center, showing us what can happen when a familiar gathering place becomes connected to a larger purpose.

This year, we are continuing that effort by supporting Hoyleton Youth and Family Services throughout the month of December.

For generations, Hoyleton Youth and Family Services has been committed to helping children, youth and families across Southern Illinois find the support they need to move forward with hope.

For some, that support may mean helping a child in the foster care system find a safe, loving and supportive home. For others, it may mean accessing counseling and mental health services, navigating a crisis, or building the confidence and skills needed to live more independently. Whatever the need, Hoyleton works alongside children and families through life’s challenges, so they have greater opportunities to heal, grow and reach their fullest potential.

Much of this work happens quietly, one child and one family at a time. But the impact can last a lifetime.

Throughout December, Andria’s will feature a specialty menu available every day we are open, with 50% of the proceeds from those featured items supporting Hoyleton Youth and Family Services.

Guests who wish to contribute further will also have the option to do so directly through their dining receipt.

But we want this partnership to be about more than a donation line at the bottom of a check.

At each table, guests will have an opportunity to learn more about Hoyleton, the people it serves and the work taking place throughout our region. We want the stories behind the organization to be present in the dining room, because understanding the need matters just as much as knowing where a contribution goes.

That distinction is important to us.

At Andria’s, we often talk about serving beyond the table. Hospitality begins with the meal and the way a guest is welcomed, but we believe it can extend much further. A restaurant can be a gathering place. It can hold memories. It can preserve traditions. It can connect generations. And over time, it can become part of the fabric of the community around it.

That idea has become increasingly important as our family thinks about what it means to carry Andria’s into its next generation.

After nearly five decades, our goal is not simply to maintain a restaurant that has been here for a long time. We want to continue building something that earns the distinction of becoming an institution within this community.

To us, that is not defined by age alone.

It is built through trust. Through relationships. Through the families who return year after year. Through the people who choose our dining room for the moments that matter to them. And through a willingness to use the place we have in this community to care about what happens beyond our own walls.

The holiday season gives us a meaningful opportunity to live that out.

This December, our doors will be open every Monday. There will be holiday dinners, family gatherings, celebrations, familiar faces and hopefully a few new traditions.

And alongside those celebrations will be an opportunity to learn about an organization that spends every day caring for children and families throughout our region.

Because perhaps one of the most meaningful things a gathering place can do is help us remember that we belong to something larger than the table in front of us.
