In almost any project we design, you will find the following five elements:

NATURAL MATERIALS

Wood, stone, brick and other natural finishes bring warmth and character into our projects.

We love materials with natural variation that add depth and become part of the character of the home.

A MIX OF OLD + NEW

We love giving existing character something new to live alongside.

Original architectural details, vintage pieces and collected elements mixed with contemporary finishes keep a home from feeling too new or overly designed.

COLOUR

You’ll almost always find colour somewhere in our projects.

Sometimes it takes over an entire room. Other times it appears in cabinetry, tile, wallpaper or one unexpected detail.

PATTERN

Wallpaper, tile, textiles and flooring give us opportunities to introduce pattern without making a room feel busy.

We often use it to give smaller spaces or quieter areas of the home a little more personality.

CUSTOM MILLWORK

Built-ins, cabinetry, vanities and other custom details show up throughout our work.

They allow us to use awkward spaces more effectively, create better storage and make the architecture feel more resolved.

OUR PROJECTS

Look through enough of our projects and you’ll start to notice a few things that keep showing up: natural materials, custom millwork, colour, pattern, and a mix of old and new.

We definitely have our favourites, but we never use them the exact same way twice. A bold tile might be just what is needed in one home, while another calls for beautiful wood grain, an unexpected wallpaper, or millwork that feels like it has always belonged there.

A lot depends on the house itself and, even more, on the people who live there. We want to know what you’re drawn to, how you actually use your home, what you already love about it, and where we can add something with a little more personality.

So yes, you’ll probably keep seeing these details in our work. We can’t help ourselves. But how they come together? That’s what makes every project unique.

Now we want to know: which one would make the list for your home?
