Twenty-six years ago, I followed a passion, took a leap of faith, launched Top Dog Country Club; and forever transformed the way dogs are cared for while owners travel. Today Top Dog continues to set the global standard.
Nestled on 39 rolling acres, this resort gives pet parents total peace of mind, knowing their dogs are safe, happy, and having the vacation of their lives.
“Building Top Dog is the single greatest achievement of my life”. Founder Jean Stelten introduced this revolutionary vacation model designed exclusively around what dogs need and love most . . . lots of exercise, pack play, fresh air and mental stimulation.
Guests enjoy private, temperature-controlled suites featuring wrought-iron bed frames, plush mattresses, in-floor heat, soft lighting, and piped-in music 24/7. Days are packed with fun, featuring 5-6 hours of supervised group play on 24,000 sf of K-9 Grass yards with balls and toys and plenty of staff to throw them, splash time in a 34-foot heated pool, and strolls along wooded nature trails.
What truly sets Top Dog apart is its elite care team. With an extraordinary 1-to-8 staff-to-dog ratio, an all-adult team provides over 15+ hours of daily hands-on affection, pack socialization, group play time, “Yappy Hour” with fresh-baked biscuits, and bedtime stories.
Our journey is coming full circle by paying it forward through Top Dog Foundation. We are creating a bright “second act” for “Elderpups” orphaned when an owner passes, moves to assisted living, or can no longer manage health challenges. Through Bentley’s Place, we are building a home, not a shelter, but think “super hip senior living” designed entirely for dogs.
The ultimate dream is to construct a Top Dog Foundation facility alongside a senior living complex in every major market across the country. By bringing these communities together, we ensure the priceless, healing bond between senior citizens and senior dogs never has to break.
Thank you for 26 incredible years, for trusting us with your furry kids, and for helping make a dream come true for the love of dogs.
