Breaking Through a Cycle of Exhaustion

Busy entrepreneurs know what it’s like to work nonstop without many breaks. A lot of business owners get caught up in an unending pattern of exhaustion that can be difficult to escape. With an endless list of tasks and a full team of employees and clients to support, it’s understandably challenging to find an appropriate time to unwind and hit the reset button. Let’s go through a few ways to break out of an unhealthy cycle of exhaustion:

Catch your Z’s

Getting enough sleep is one of the most important things to do as an entrepreneur. Sleeping more hours each night will prevent burnout and keep your mind fresh – which is extremely important as you grow your business. One study of more than 4,100 workers in the United States found significantly worse productivity and performance among workers who slept less. The same study showed an estimated loss of nearly $2,000 per worker due to poor sleep. This shows how much a lack of sleep can negatively impact your bottom line as a business owner. So, the next time you stay up late to procrastinate the day ahead, think about how it could impact your mindset in the morning.

Nutrition & Exercise

We’ve all fallen into bad habits when it comes to exercising and nutrition. Eating well and moving your body is very helpful to your overall mindset and energy levels. According to Harvard Health Publishing, exercising boosts oxygen circulation throughout your body. It also supports energy production and allows your body to function better. These are really important benefits for any entrepreneur on the move! WebMD also suggests eating foods such as blueberries, spinach, strawberries, whole grains and salmon to stay energized throughout the long workweek.

Improve Your Processes

Are you working in the most efficient way possible? An unorganized or inefficient way of working is another key contributor to fatigue. Think about how you’re managing your email inbox and prioritizing your daily tasks. Rethink your priorities and make improvements to your daily routine and see how it positively impacts your energy levels.

Building your own business is a challenging endeavor that requires a lot of energy and your full attention. Be sure to get enough sleep each night, eat well, exercise regularly and improve your daily processes to stay at the top of your game at work. The better your body feels, the more results you’ll begin to see!
