New Milford Hospital, part of Northwell Health, is moving forward with a major expansion of women’s health services through the development of the New Milford Hospital Women’s Wellness Center—a comprehensive, community‑centered program designed to meet the unique needs of women across every stage of life. The center represents a significant investment in the health and well‑being of women in New Milford and the surrounding region, bringing together clinical expertise, preventive care and supportive services under one coordinated program.

A New Era for Women’s Health in New Milford

The Women’s Wellness Center will offer an integrated model of care that reflects the realities and needs of women in the community. Beginning with services located in the Haims Family Multispecialty Center and expanding into a dedicated on‑campus facility over the next two years, the center will provide a full spectrum of women‑focused care, including obstetrics and gynecology, pelvic floor therapy, menopause and healthy aging support, pre‑ and postpartum care, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, gynecologic oncology, genetic counseling, behavioral health services, bone density testing, intimacy and relationship support and enhanced breast care with 3D mammography. A Resource Center will offer support groups, educational classes and connections to specialists in cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonary medicine and general surgery.

“This center will allow us to deliver truly comprehensive women’s wellness services—meeting women where they are and addressing their needs across every stage of life,” said Dr. Thomas Koobatian, executive director and chief of staff at New Milford Hospital. “It is an important step forward for women’s health in our region.”

Community Support Strengthening a Community Resource

The development of the Women’s Wellness Center is made possible through the generosity of several donors who share a commitment to advancing equitable, high‑quality care for women. A transformative $1 million gift from Margery Feldberg and Jeremy Levin, PhD, MD, provides essential support for the center’s creation and long‑term success. Their contribution builds on the critical seed funding from Diane von Furstenberg and The Diller von Furstenberg Family Foundation, as well as significant support from Julie and Robert Bailey—all of whom recognized the need for a comprehensive, women‑centered program in New Milford.

“We’re thrilled that our gift—and the other exceptional gifts pledged toward the New Milford Hospital Women’s Wellness Center—will address an enormous unmet need by providing a comprehensive range of women‑specific health care,” said Ms. Feldberg.

Dr. Levin added, “It gives Margery and me enormous pleasure to support both our community hospital and the advancement of gender‑specific care. Women deserve care that reflects their unique medical needs.”

Deep Roots in New Milford

Dr. Levin and Ms. Feldberg have been part of the New Milford community for more than 40 years, where they own and operate De Hoek Farm. Their longstanding connection to the region reflects the spirit of the Women’s Wellness Center itself—care designed by and for the community it serves.

The expanded Women’s Wellness Center is expected to open in 2027, marking a major milestone in New Milford Hospital’s commitment to improving access, expanding services, and elevating the standard of care for women throughout the region.
