Each spring, we pack our bags and head to New York City for one of the most exciting events in the eyewear world, the LOFT Eyewear Show. Hosted annually in Manhattan, LOFT brings together some of the most innovative independent eyewear designers from around the world.
For us at Guild Eyewear Studio, it’s an essential opportunity to discover what’s next in eyewear design. But the most valuable part of the show isn’t just seeing the newest collections, it’s meeting the people behind them.
The Artists Behind the Frames
One of the biggest misconceptions in eyewear is what truly defines “designer” glasses. Here’s what most people don’t realize: many of the brand names you recognize from department stores and malls are actually produced by large licensing companies. These manufacturers produce frames for dozens of fashion labels, with the primary difference often being the logo on the temple. Because they are mass produced, you tend to see them everywhere and many styles begin to look the same.
Independent eyewear designers are different. At shows like LOFT, we meet the actual creators, designers, engineers, and artisans who may spend years perfecting a single frame design. Their collections are often handcrafted in small batches using specialized materials and techniques. The result is eyewear that prioritizes design, comfort, and durability. These are frames that feel as distinctive as the person wearing them.

What’s Coming to Guild This Spring?
One of the highlights of this year’s trip was finalizing plans to introduce a remarkable new collection: AHLEM. Designed in Paris and handcrafted in France, AHLEM is known for its architectural silhouettes, exceptional materials, and timeless aesthetic. Each piece blends artistic design with meticulous craftsmanship.
The collection will pair beautifully with another recent addition to our studio, LINDBERG, whose Danish-made frames are celebrated for their minimalism, featherlight construction, and technical innovation. Since introducing LINDBERG to Guild in November of 2025, the collection has quickly become a tremendous success with our clients.
Together, these collections represent what we love most about independent eyewear: thoughtful design, extraordinary craftsmanship, and frames that feel truly personal.

Traveling to events like the LOFT show is one of the ways we ensure that Guild remains a destination for eyewear that is anything but ordinary.
