The Spring Market is here! Over the past month I’ve seen huge increases in activity in both listings and showing requests. Every house is different, but across Milwaukee and Waukesha County I have seen homes for sale with 20+ showings the first weekend listed and receiving 8-12 or more offers. That being said, not every house is sold the first weekend on market, strategic pricing, home preparation and having a marketing plan help you stand out to buyers.
Rates
Interest rates have been hovering right above 6% as of mid-February, but there have been days here and there where they have dipped below 6.0%. So far, the prediction that rates wouldn’t move much throughout 2026 has held true. I am still hopeful there will be some rate cuts later in the year, but I don’t recommend a “high” interest rate being the reason not to start your home search.
Winning in Competition
There are so many ways to be competitive in today’s market and that’s why working with an experienced Real Estate Agent is essential for success. Connections with agents from other brokerages, community insight, quality vendor recommendations, and creative solutions are some things you should take into consideration when choosing an agent.
