When homeowners think about door security, they often focus on locks alone. While hardware matters, true door security is the result of a complete system working together—the frame, the glass, the locking mechanism, and the way everything is installed.
Start with the frame.
A strong door is only as secure as the frame holding it in place. Reinforced steel or aluminum frames anchored properly into the structure of the home provide far more resistance than decorative frames or retrofit solutions. Our installation team are truly experts at their craft with some having been with our company for 18+ years which ensures your product will not only be anchored properly but ensures your product is functioning properly before they leave.
Understand locking systems.
Multi-point locking systems engage the door at multiple locations along the frame, rather than a single deadbolt point. This distributes force, improves alignment, and significantly increases resistance to forced entry.
Although our standard Steel entry doors only come with a single deadbolt, we’ve set the bar high with our partnership with Baldwin Hardware since our inception and only use their Reserve line which has premium solid brass construction, durable finishes, high security, excellent design variety, and smart lock integration for high-end aesthetics and function.
Don’t overlook the glass.
Glass doors can be secure when designed correctly. Tempered, laminated, or impact-rated glass holds together when broken, making intrusion far more difficult while maintaining visual appeal and natural light. Always make sure to ask about U-rating, UV filtering, and whether it is tempered.
At Love That Door, our glass across all products is tempered, with Low-E squared, filled with argon gas, and ranges from 5/8ths of an inch thick up to 1” inch or triple paned glass packages.
Installation matters more than most people realize.
Even the best door can underperform if installed improperly. Precise measurements, correct anchoring, and proper sealing all contribute to security, performance, and longevity.
Security isn’t about creating fear — it’s about creating confidence. A well-designed entry door protects your home quietly and reliably, every day so make sure your investment can stand the test of time.
