There’s nothing that compares to riding a motorcycle. Unfortunately, motorcycles offer little protection from other drivers often resulting in serious injuries or wrongful death. I draw on my experience when I say that one common theme stands out among injured motorcycle riders that I have represented:
They have not read their insurance policies and have no clue about significant differences between coverages involving motorcycles when compared to automobiles.
It is important to read and understand the contract language in your insurance policy BEFORE an incident happens.
- The terms can result in less payment to you just because you are on a motorcycle, not in an automobile. After a crash and injury, it is too late to make any changes.
- Most automobile insurance policies do not automatically include motorcycles, unless there is a specific endorsement, and they are usually written separately.
- Most assume the policy they purchase is very similar, if not identical, to their automobile policy. This is a false assumption.
My experience includes all aspects of personal injury litigation including car and truck collisions, motorcycle crashes, and general liability cases. I am licensed to practice law in Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota.
If you have been injured in a motorcycle accident, I would be more than happy to give you a case evaluation. There is no cost to you for this evaluation. Call or email at 612-344-0468 or cdixon@schwebel.com.
I’m a trial lawyer, and I take great pride in that role. It is both an honor and a privilege to assist individuals and families following life-altering accidents. I am recognized by the Minnesota Bar Association as a certified trial specialist—an achievement earned by less than 3% of attorneys in the state. I have also been named a Minnesota “Super Lawyer,” a distinction awarded to only 5% of attorneys statewide.
My wife, Haily, and our three daughters have proudly called Deephaven home since 2019.
