Five Tips To Beat The Heat This Summer Heat with Eagle Pride Martial Arts

Georgia summers are hot and humid, which makes it harder for the body to cool itself.

Sweat doesn’t evaporate as easily, so kids can overheat faster during activity. The good news is that staying active is still safe as long as you make a few smart adjustments.

1.) Start hydrating early.

Don’t wait until activity begins. Drinking water throughout the day helps the body stay
cool and perform better. Small, steady sips work better than trying to catch up all at
once.

2.) Choose the right time of the day.

Early mornings and evenings are much cooler than midday. Avoiding the hottest hours
can make a big difference in safety and energy levels.

3.) Adjust the intensity.

Not every activity needs to be maximum effort. In the heat, it’s better to focus on staying
active rather than high intensity. This keeps kids moving without overloading their
bodies.

4.) Build heat tolerance gradually.

The body can adapt to warmer conditions over time, but only with consistent, moderate
activity. Jumping into long, intense sessions too quickly increases the risk of heat
exhaustion.

5.) Watch for warning signs.

Dizziness, unusual tiredness, nausea, or irritability can all be early signs of overheating.
If they show up, it’s time to stop, cool down, and hydrate.
With a little planning, families can stay active all summer long even in the Georgia heat.

At Eagle Pride Martial Arts, we believe summer is one of the best seasons for children to grow stronger not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. With more free time and energy, it’s the perfect opportunity to build positive habits through structured training, encouraging mentorship, and a focus on respect and discipline. Our programs help children build confidence, improve focus, and develop resilience that carries into every area of life.

Martial arts is more than learning techniques, it’s about setting goals, staying consistent, and pushing through challenges.

Throughout the summer, kids gain a sense of accomplishment as they progress, all while staying active in a safe, supportive environment. It’s a season for growth, confidence, and discovering just how capable they truly are.
