WHAT I’M NOTICING RIGHT NOW
Spring has officially settled into Trent Woods, and you can feel it everywhere, neighbors out walking in the evenings, yards coming back to life, and a little more energy around town than we’ve seen in a while.
It’s one of those times of year where everything just feels a bit lighter. People are outside more, conversations last a little longer, and there’s a renewed sense of pride in our homes and neighborhoods.
You start to notice the small things again, the way the light hits the water in the evenings, freshly mulched beds, porches being used again. It’s also the time of year when people quietly start thinking about what’s next – whether that’s small improvements, bigger renovations, or even future plans they may not be ready to act on just yet.
INSIDER UPDATE: WALKWAYS + WHAT’S NEXT
One thing I’m keeping a close eye on right now is the continued expansion of the pedestrian walkway system in Trent Woods. While many of us are already enjoying the sidewalks along some of our main roads, what most people don’t realize is that the project isn’t finished, it’s evolving. The next phase is focused on filling in remaining gaps, improving safety along busier roads, and creating better connections between neighborhoods. Over time, this creates something much bigger than just sidewalks, it creates a more walkable, connected community. And you can already see it happening.
More people are out walking in the mornings and evenings, kids are riding bikes more freely, and neighbors are interacting in ways that didn’t happen as naturally before.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
Even if you’re not planning to sell anytime soon, these kinds of improvements matter. Today’s buyers are paying closer attention to lifestyle than ever before. It’s no longer just about square footage or finishes, it’s about how a neighborhood lives. Walkability, safety, and connection are becoming real drivers of value, especially in established areas like Trent Woods where the character is already there.
These upgrades don’t create overnight change, but over time, they quietly strengthen property values and keep a neighborhood competitive without changing what people love about it.

A QUICK MARKET NOTE
From a real estate perspective, I’m continuing to see steady interest in Trent Woods. Buyers are especially drawn to larger, more private lots, established neighborhoods with character, and a quieter setting that’s still close to everything in New Bern. Homes that are well-prepared and thoughtfully priced are still moving, even in a more balanced market.
FROM ME TO YOU
Trent Woods has always been special because it doesn’t try too hard, it just quietly gets better over time. That’s what I’m seeing right now. Not big, flashy changes, but thoughtful improvements, strong community presence, and a lifestyle that continues to hold its value in more ways than one. Even something as simple as grabbing dinner from the food trucks or signing up for the town’s weekly updates can help you feel more connected to everything happening around you. I’ll keep sharing what I’m seeing so you always feel one step ahead.
