Dear River Ridge Neighbors,
I hope this letter finds you well. I would like to take a moment to introduce myself properly and express how excited I am to be part of the River Ridge community here at 9523 Jefferson Highway.
I have been practicing general dentistry since 1987. Initially, I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of New Orleans. Then I received my dental degree from the LSU School of Dentistry and I am proud LSU Tigers fan! As many of you may already know, two short years ago I purchased the property and dental practice from Dr. James Burns. This transition came at an ideal time for both of us. After more than 33 years practicing in the old Airline Park Shopping Center, I was faced with relocating due to redevelopment of the property. While it was bittersweet to leave a location that had been home to my practice for so many years, I am truly grateful to call River Ridge and Jefferson Highway my new professional home.
Many of my longtime patients have been excited about the move, especially since this location is even more convenient for many of them. I feel very fortunate to now be part of such a beautiful and welcoming neighborhood. Dr. Burns’ patients are happy because their dental treatment can continue here without interruption. Dr. Burns has moved into a full-time role as a Clinical Professor at the LSU School of Dentistry, where he had already been teaching part-time while maintaining his private practice. I know he is excited for this next chapter in his career, and I am honored to continue caring for his patients. I also wanted to introduce the wonderful team you may see around the office:
Linda Harris, my companion, office manager, and dental assistant for 30+ years.
Kelsey Harris, Linda’s daughter and mine, who assists with the front desk operations, social media and attends college part-time.
Victoria “Tori” Sigur, a newbie to the dental profession has been my assistant for the last two years.
Maria Martinez is my dental Hygienist. She has been in the dental field for many years and has been with me for multiple years.
And Christina Broussard, who has been with me over 10 years full and part-time as my dental assistant and insurance coordinator.
I look forward to continuing to care for this property, making improvements over time, and getting to know all of you better as neighbors. Please feel free to stop by and say hello or make an appointment!
