“A Little Bit of Summer Is What the Whole Year Is About”

John Mayer says it well. Here in Fresno, and throughout the Central Valley, those words ring especially true.

So, how do we adapt to our summer weather? Great question! In our household, you’ll often find Nancy and her husband rising early to enjoy a swim or squeeze in a morning walk before the heat settles in. Gardening gets an early start, too, while lawn mowing is often saved for dusk or the cool glow of a sunset.

We genuinely love summer. It allows us to tackle indoor projects we’ve been meaning to get to—reorganizing a closet, refreshing a room, or finally finishing that decorating project that’s been patiently waiting for our attention. And, of course, summer also brings opportunities for short getaways to the coast, time with family and friends, and celebrations as our nation approaches its upcoming 250th birthday.

The real estate market is no different.

Summer has brought increased activity, with heightened interest from both buyers and sellers throughout our beloved Fig Garden community. Did you know that pricing has increased by more than $15 per square foot this summer alone? That shift has had a significant impact on overall property values. While average days on market remain around 30 to 45 days, many homes are attracting strong interest and selling quickly.

At The Altschuler Group, we’re adjusting right alongside the season. You may see us placing “Open House” signs out early in the morning, hosting Open Houses earlier in the day rather than during traditional afternoon hours, or staying close to our air-conditioned office during the hottest part of the day. We were especially honored that our most recent Fig Garden listing welcomed approximately 65 to 75 visitors.

If you happen to see us around the neighborhood, please stop and say hello. We’d love to connect.
