AI is just a fad, it won’t last… Right?

The simple answer is, it’s not a fad, and it certainly is here to stay. AI at its core is Artificial Intelligence… A computer program or smart machine that was designed to do things which typically required human intelligence.
What used to be the typical explanation for a “smart enabled device” is now not enough. A smart device that can’t utilize and incorporate AI into its everyday usage, is a product of the past.
So how is AI being used in everyday life now?

  • Daily Productivity & Communication
    • Assistance with daily emails and communication tasks through suggestions, recommendations, or even completely writing an email for you.
  • Navigation & Travel
    • Trip planning, real-time routing, scanning upcoming destinations and roads for real-time updates and hazard roadblocks. No longer a simple navigation system, but now your assistant road pilot.
  • Entertainment & Recommendations
    • The simple reviews to find a good restaurant in the area are no longer enough. Your personal AI assistant can now scan the local area and web to take you to a venue that matches each one of your criteria, dietary restrictions, etc., with the ability to translate in real time any language barrier that existed prior as well.
  • Health & Wellness
    • Activity tracking, sleep tracking, heart monitoring
    • Diet and fitness planning, tracking goals, making recommendations, learning your daily routines and predictive movements. Your AI enabled programs and devices know what you are going to do, before you even do it, based on tracking your behaviors.
  • Smart Home & Daily Utilities
    • AI has the ability to make your entire home automated, beyond the prior smart capabilities, but now based on behaviors, preferences, energy optimizations, etc.
  • Security
    • Detecting fraud faster than before, using authentication, facial recognition, and predictive technology.
    • Credit card companies enabling AI to track your spending and quickly detect anomalies with emailed notifications.

Basically, we have reached the point in society that even if you don’t necessarily know what AI is, or think it is usable in your everyday life, the fact of the matter is, at some point in your daily commute, transaction, or interactions, it’s already playing a part in your daily life. The more you learn about it, its capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses, the better. AI is a valuable resource and a “beast” waiting to be unleashed. Learn about it and how the usage or enablement of it in your daily life can benefit you.
