Gutters to Defend Against the Rain

We like rain, without it we would be unemployed, or we would find a different profession.

Water erodes, that’s what it does. For hundreds of years, even thousands,  we see rock formations change their shape. Meandering streams become rivers over time and are no longer meandering. Foundations crumble; houses collapse. Basement flooding is just the beginning of years of problems. Wood rots also in no time at all. Along the top of your foundation there is a wood sill.

A well-maintained, properly installed gutter system can add years to your investment. To be sure your gutter system is doing what it’s designed to do, call an expert. There are some local gutter companies that are very good at what they do. It’s not all about keeping them clean and clear of debris, although that’s a big part of it. It’s about where they drain, if the gutters have the proper pitch, where the drain leads and empties out, and size matters as well. I’ve seen poorly planned out systems cause erosion along the base of the foundation. Underground drains improperly installed can collapse. It’s important to have experts on the job. Most gutter companies will work with your builder or contractor to be sure they are all on the same page, so to speak, and if you’re surrounded by trees, what type of cover will work best.

Being in the gutter business I want to be certain you have no future problems, because then it becomes my problem. Our company installs about 100 systems a year. We’ve been doing this for 40 years. We need to do the job right the first time.

With fall ahead, have your gutters brought up to date with our highly effective cover. Each gutter company has their own reliable one they recommend. Best to go with the one your gutter company uses.

Tom Sheare owns Milford Gutter Co. and his son has been working with him for 20 years now. Alice is a specialist in design and custom seamless gutter manufacturing and has worked along with Tom and Kyle for 16 years. They have gutters in their blood. Together they work hard protecting the integrity of every home, which is always their main goal.
