A one-of-a-kind mobile showroom brought design, technology and hands-on discovery to Troy this summer. There are some products you simply need to experience in person. This summer, Herald Wholesale in Troy gave local design professionals and industry guests exactly that opportunity when the TOTO Mobile Showroom rolled into town.

On Friday, May 22, the TOTO truck made a special stop at Herald Wholesale, transforming the showroom’s parking lot into an extension of the design experience inside. Visitors were invited to step aboard, explore TOTO’s latest innovations and see firsthand how advanced bathroom technology is changing the way we think about one of the most-used spaces in the home.

The visit was part of TOTO’s broader mobile demonstration tour. Rather than simply viewing products in a catalog or on a screen, guests could get up close, ask questions and see the technology in action.

For Herald Wholesale, the event was a natural fit. Herald has long served homeowners and the professional design and building community with a substantial selection of plumbing, lighting and hardware. Its showroom is designed around the idea that choosing finishes and fixtures is about more than selecting a product—it is about seeing how those products look, feel and function as part of a complete space.

The TOTO truck brought that philosophy outdoors.

Inside the mobile showroom, the focus was on performance, innovation and thoughtful bathroom design. TOTO representatives were on hand to discuss flushing technology, hygiene, water efficiency and the details that can make a significant difference in everyday life. For designers and builders, it was an opportunity to explore new possibilities for their clients. For homeowners and design enthusiasts, it was a chance to see just how far bathroom technology has evolved.

The event also created an informal setting for local professionals to connect with one another—a reminder that some of the best ideas begin with a conversation. That combination of technology and personal connection is especially relevant in today’s luxury home market. Bathrooms are no longer treated simply as utilitarian spaces. They have become places of comfort, wellness and personal retreat, with homeowners paying closer attention to everything from lighting and hardware to shower systems, water conservation and smart technology.

TOTO has been at the forefront of that evolution. The company has increasingly used mobile experiences to bring plumbing technology directly to the professionals who specify and install it. In 2026, TOTO’s national mobile tours have highlighted new approaches to bathroom design, performance and wellness.

For the Herald Wholesale team, hosting the truck was also a reflection of its role within Metro Detroit’s design community. With an extensive showroom and knowledgeable staff, Herald brings together plumbing, lighting and hardware selections in one destination. That makes it a resource not only for contractors and builders, but for homeowners working with designers or embarking on a renovation of their own.

For those who missed the TOTO truck’s stop in Troy, the experience is a good reason to visit Herald Wholesale itself. With its expansive bath, lighting and hardware displays, the showroom continues to offer Metro Detroit homeowners and design professionals a place to discover what is possible before making the final selection.

After all, great design begins with inspiration. And sometimes, inspiration arrives on four wheels.
