I have provided Medicare tips in this magazine for several years. I try to present Medicare in a way that is easy to understand and to inform you of details you might not have known. When you are aware of options available to you, you can make better decisions. You can always go online to make changes in coverage or enroll in a Medicare plan (Supplement, Advantage Plan, or drug plan). You don’t need a Medicare agent to do so. However, the value of working with an agent is to utilize their expertise and experience. Good agents can compare differences between insurance companies, their response to customer issues, and provide information about hidden plan discounts and extra benefits. Sometimes income can impact total Medicare costs. There are rules about when to enroll, disenroll, and lifetime penalties.
Many of you have shared how you save my magazine articles either because of the information or to gather more details about a particular situation. You have confidence in my expertise and experience. As a result, I am getting more inquiries about other types of insurance, i.e., individual plan coverage, business insurance, retirement planning, etc. I have decided to partner with another insurance agency, Champion Insurance Agency, who can provide extra help and more resources to address your issues. Who is Champion Insurance Agency? Ron Filice, who founded and ran Filice Insurance in San Jose for many years, sold that business several years ago.
