A More Personal Approach to Modern Health

For many people, healthcare has become a frustrating cycle of brief appointments, isolated lab results, and treatment plans that address symptoms without fully exploring why those symptoms developed. At Dane Functional Health, my goal is to offer something more personal, thorough, and collaborative.

I have worked as a nurse practitioner for ten years since graduating from Samuel Merritt University. My clinical background includes emergency-room medicine, along with serving as medical director and managing three Carbon Health urgent care centers. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in conventional medicine and taught me the importance of recognizing serious illness quickly. They also showed me how often patients need more time, deeper investigation, and a plan designed around their individual physiology and goals.

That perspective led me to functional and regenerative medicine. Rather than viewing each symptom in isolation, I consider the broader picture: metabolic health, hormones, nutrition, inflammation, sleep, recovery, body composition, and the ways these systems influence one another. The objective is not to replace conventional care, but to complement it with a more comprehensive and proactive approach.

As a local provider, I am especially excited to introduce myself to the Piedmont community and become a more accessible health resource for my neighbors. I want people nearby to know that thoughtful, individualized care is available close to home — whether they are struggling with a persistent health concern or simply want to feel, perform, and age better.

At Dane Functional Health, I work with adults experiencing fatigue, weight changes, hormonal symptoms, stubborn pain, or poor recovery, as well as those seeking a clearer understanding of their health. Depending on the individual, care may incorporate advanced laboratory assessment, medical weight management, hormone optimization, peptide therapy, IV nutrient support, or regenerative treatments such as platelet-rich plasma and shockwave therapy. Red-light therapy and Emsella may also support specific goals. These are tools — not one-size-fits-all solutions — and they are most useful when carefully selected as part of an individualized plan.

What I enjoy most is helping patients connect the dots. When people understand what may be driving their symptoms and why a particular strategy is being considered, they can participate more confidently in their care. My aim is to create a setting where patients feel heard, informed, and supported while working toward meaningful, sustainable improvements in their health.
