Self-care has gotten very … fluffy.
A spa day. A massage. Champagne by the pool. A new skincare product. A weekend away.
I love beautiful experiences as much as anyone. But somewhere along the way, I think we confused the treats of self-care with the practice of actually caring for ourselves.
To me, self-care is self-agency.
It’s paying attention to how you feel and participating in your own wellbeing — not only when you’re exhausted, depleted, or something has gone wrong, but as an ongoing practice.
We already understand this kind of maintenance in other areas of our lives. We invest in gym memberships, trainers, nutrition programs, wearable technology, and apps that track everything from our sleep to our movement.
So why should allowing ourselves to be cared for be something we only make time for when we’re running on empty?
Care doesn’t have to begin with a crisis. Care can be maintenance.
That belief is one of the reasons I created the Mismo Method.
I work with busy, high-performing people, and I know how valuable their time is. If you’re going to carve 60, 75, or 90 minutes out of a full month, I want that time to matter.
I want you to stop producing for a little while.
Quiet some of the noise.
Allow yourself to let go and receive.
And I also want to deliver thoughtful, results-oriented care for your skin and body.
That’s why I’ve invested in advanced technologies, professional products, and modalities that allow me to bring facial care, LED light therapy, lymphatic compression, and hands-on treatment together within one experience. Because I don’t believe you should have to choose between care that feels good and care that does something.
You deserve it all.
And no, one appointment isn’t going to fix your life. That’s not what I’m promising.
I want Mismo to be one place within your larger practice of caring for yourself: a regular opportunity to support your skin and body, reset, and return to your life feeling maintained, refreshed, cared for, and more like yourself.
Choosing yourself doesn’t mean disregarding everyone else. It means caring enough about the life you’re living to participate in how you feel while you’re living it. That is what the Mismo Method is all about.
That isn’t selfish. That’s self-FULL!
