October in Auburn brings cooler temperatures, community traditions, and a calendar full of exciting events. To kick things off, The Fall Live & Local Music Series will be held this year at Town Creek Park and is scheduled for the first four Thursdays in the month, beginning Oct. 1st and continuing through Oct. 22nd. Bring your lawn chair, blanket, and come enjoy great music.
Town Creek Park will also host the Harvest Market on Oct. 3rd, providing an opportunity to shop for seasonal goods and support local vendors. Residents looking ahead to one of Auburn’s signature events can mark their calendars for Oct. 5th, when vendor applications open for the 2027 Auburn CityFest through MyRec.

The Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center will host the Auburn Area Community Theatre (AACT), as they present a folk-rock-inspired musical “Imagine A Dragon,” with performances and matinees running Oct. 1st-10th.
Visitors can also enjoy Artist’s Harvest 2: The Harvest Continues, an exhibition celebrating local artists that will be on display Oct. 1st-31st, culminating with a special reception and market on Oct. 22nd.
Music lovers won’t want to miss the Auburn Community Orchestra’s (ACO) Fall Masterworks Concert on Tuesday, Oct. 13th at 7 p.m. at the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center. This free, family-friendly concert offers an evening of outstanding live orchestral music.
October offers a variety of opportunities for community members of all ages and abilities to connect and stay active through programs and events. Auburn Parks & Recreation invites exceptional teens and adults ages 15 and older to Ignite the Night on October 3rd, a therapeutic recreation (TR) prom designed to celebrate community, friendship, and fun.
Parent’s Night Out on Oct. 9th gives children a fun-filled evening at the Lake Wilmore Park Recreation Center.
A seasonal favorite, Fright Night, will return on Oct. 16th along with the inaugural Fall Family Fest, bringing festive activities and Halloween-themed fun to Lake Wilmore Park.
Youth and high school parents should also note that registration for Youth and High School Basketball closes on Oct. 15th. October’s sports calendar is packed with competition, including several Perfect Game Baseball Tournaments at Duck Samford Park, the ITA Regional Tennis Tournament at Yarbrough Tennis Center, Turf Wars Kickball at Wire Road Soccer Complex and the WSL Adult Softball Fall State Tournament at the Auburn Softball Complex.
The month also features social opportunities through the 19-49 Social Club, including Mahjong Night on Oct. 13th and Cookbook Club on Oct. 28th.
From live performances and seasonal markets to athletics and community gatherings, Auburn Parks and Recreation offer something for everyone throughout October.
