For years, alternative hair has been treated as something people only explore when they’ve exhausted every other option. Wigs were associated with significant hair loss, extensions were reserved for adding length, and hairpieces were something most people didn’t know much about unless they needed one.
Fortunately, that conversation is changing, and so is the quality!
Today, alternative hair is about options. Whether you’re experiencing thinning, navigating medical hair loss, growing out a haircut, or simply wishing you had more volume, there are more solutions available than ever before. The challenge isn’t necessarily finding hair. It’s understanding which solution makes sense for you.

A Different Way to Shop for Hair
Shopping for alternative hair online can be overwhelming. Between cap constructions, hair fibers, lengths, colors, attachment methods, and price points, it’s difficult to know where to begin. Even more challenging is understanding how something will actually look and feel once you’re wearing it.
Our Wig Parlor gives clients the opportunity to sit down with a knowledgeable professional, discuss their needs, and physically try on different options. Sometimes what a client thinks they need when they walk through our doors is completely different from what they ultimately choose.
Understanding Your Options
One of the most important parts of our consultation process is education. Many clients are surprised to discover how many different types of alternative hair are available.
Wigs offer full coverage and can be an excellent solution for significant hair loss, medical hair loss, or anyone looking for a complete transformation. Today’s wigs come in a variety of constructions, allowing us to explore different levels of comfort, breathability, realism, and styling versatility.

Toppers are designed to add coverage and volume to specific areas, typically along the part or crown. For clients experiencing thinning on the top of the head but maintaining healthy hair elsewhere, a topper can blend beautifully with their natural hair.
Extensions provide length, density, or both. They’re not just for dramatically long hair. Extensions can help fill in sparse areas, create a fuller perimeter, or add subtle volume where it’s needed most.
Halos and hairline pieces offer targeted solutions without necessarily committing to a full wig or traditional extension installation. Halos can add removable length and fullness, while hairline pieces can help address specific areas where additional coverage is desired.
Custom hairpieces allow us to explore solutions when an off-the-shelf option doesn’t quite meet a client’s needs. Hair loss patterns, head shapes, density preferences, and styling goals vary tremendously, and sometimes a more individualized approach makes all the difference.

Finding the right piece is only the beginning.
At Headspace, our background in professional hairdressing allows us to take alternative hair a step further through customization. A wig straight out of the box may have the right construction but need a different haircut. A topper might provide beautiful coverage but require color adjustments to blend naturally. Extensions may need strategic shaping to create movement and balance. We offer professional cutting, coloring, washing and styling to help make these pieces feel like they belong to the person wearing them. We also provide light repair work and maintenance services when appropriate, helping clients care for their investment and extend the life of their alternative hair. These finishing touches are often what separate a hairpiece that simply fits from one that truly makes you feel like yourself.
