Medicare Season Is Around the Corner: Is Your Coverage Ready?

  • Copied!

As we move into the fall season, many people begin thinking about Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period. For some, it’s a reminder to review their current plan. For others, it’s their first time navigating Medicare, and they aren’t sure where to begin.

Medicare Doesn’t Have to Be Confusing

Turning 65 is an exciting milestone, but it also comes with important healthcare decisions. Medicare offers excellent benefits, but understanding the different parts and choosing the right coverage can be confusing.

Original Medicare includes:

  • Part A, which helps cover hospital care.
  • Part B, which covers doctor visits, outpatient services, and preventive care.

Many people also choose additional coverage through:

  • Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans, which combine hospital and medical benefits and often include extra services such as dental, vision, hearing, and prescription drug coverage.
  • Prescription Drug Plans (Part D) to help lower medication costs.
  • Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans to help reduce out-of-pocket expenses not covered by Original Medicare.

There isn’t one plan that’s best for everyone. The right choice depends on your health, prescriptions, preferred doctors, travel plans, and budget.  This is why personalized guidance is so important.

Annual Enrollment Is the Perfect Time to Review Your Plan

Each year from October 15 through December 7, Medicare beneficiaries have the opportunity to review and make changes to their coverage for the following year.

Many people assume that if they liked their plan this year, they should simply keep it. However, plans change every year. Premiums, deductibles, provider networks, drug formularies, and covered benefits can all be different from one year to the next.

That’s why we encourage every Medicare client to schedule an annual review. Even if no changes are needed, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your coverage is still the best fit. And if a better option is available, we’ll help you find it.
