Wendy Taffet once said, “When it comes to Enjou Chocolat… I’m doing what I was born to do.” For forty years that conviction shaped a New Jersey chocolate company known for craft, customization, and community.

The story began in pharmacy school, where Wendy’s first project was chocolate syrup which was an early sign of her true calling. Her admiration for fine desserts grew into a determination to create exceptional chocolate. That standard guided Enjou through decades of change, building a reputation for quality and an extraordinary collection of molds.

In 2022 Wendy chose to step back and spend more time with her grandchildren. Mark and Rose acquired the company determined to honor its standards while expanding its reach. Rose, with a background in fine food and wine marketing, has strengthened Enjou’s presence in premium regional retailers including Kings Supermarkets, Gary’s Wine & Spirits, and flagship ShopRite stores. Mark, who spent 35 years in IT focused on ERP systems for distribution and manufacturing, has redesigned business processes, sales channels, automation, and accounting to support growth.  By February 2023, Enjou had reached it’s 40th anniversary.

The company’s community focus remains unchanged. Enjou prioritizes customer satisfaction and meaningful connections, while regularly supporting the community.  Media recognition has followed: appearances on News 12 New Jersey, Fox News, CNN and Food Network’s Food Nation with Bobby Flay, features in NJ Monthly and Garden State Woman Magazine, and coverage on Whose Wedding Is It Anyway. The company regularly exhibits at the various regional Chocolate and other fine food expos as well as Wedding Shows.

What sets Enjou apart is its range and flexibility while continuing to maintain 4.9 to 5.0-star ratings across the review spectrum due to its exceptional taste, quality and service. The company offers assortments, fruit platters, and gift baskets for every occasion, backed by more than 50,000 chocolate molds that enable highly customized pieces for parties, weddings, and corporate gifts. Vegan, gluten free and sugar-free options are available.  They have honed operations to handle shipping thousands of gifts on behalf of its business and consumer customers.

Mark and Rose treat growth as a means of preserving excellence rather than an end in itself. Expanding retail presence and modernizing operations allow them to serve the same purpose Wendy established: creating chocolate that makes moments more memorable. Forty years on, with new ownership, Enjou continues as a New Jersey maker rooted in craft, community, and care…one chocolate at a time.
