The Arts Center Theatre 2026–2027 Mainstage Season is a six-show lineup running from November through April, offering audiences an exciting mix of comedic works filled with laughter and lively storytelling.

The season opens November 5–22 with Packing Up Polly by Leslie Kimbell, directed by Hyla Crane. This spirited Southern comedy follows Caroline Porter as she returns home to pack up her late mother’s house—only to be met with epic hoarding, missing siblings and three high school friends who arrive unannounced. As gospel music plays and margaritas flow, the women confront old wounds, rediscover friendship and chart new futures.

From December 9–20, Float by Patricia Kane, directed by Amy Saad, brings audiences into the quirky world of the Budapest Women’s Club as they build their annual holiday parade float. Beneath the glitter and fake snow, the women navigate secrets, moral dilemmas and shifting loyalties in a humorous and heartfelt exploration of Midwestern values.

The new year begins January 7–24 with Ira Levin’s classic thriller Deathtrap, directed by Paula Keenan. When a struggling playwright receives a brilliant script from a student, he sees a chance to reclaim success—if he’s willing to cross a moral line. Twists, turns and clever suspense make this Broadway favorite a gripping midseason highlight.

February 4–21 brings the uproarious comedy The Red Velvet Cake War by Jones, Hope and Wooten, directed by Cheryl Duggan. Three cousins in Sweetgum, Texas, attempt to host a family reunion amid personal chaos, smalltown gossip and romantic misadventures. Their fast-paced antics deliver big laughs and unforgettable characters.

From March 4–21, audiences will enjoy Sandbag, Stage Left (or One Dead Dolly) by John Anthony, directed by Marlene Strollo. This parody of courtroom dramas centers on the mysterious death of a leading lady crushed by a sandbag. With eccentric witnesses, backstage rivalries and audience members serving as the jury, the show promises nonstop laughter.

The season concludes April 1–18 with Ben Hur, Patrick Barlow’s comedic adaptation directed by Joan Gerberding. Told by an amateur theatre troupe attempting to stage an epic with only four actors, the production features chariot races, sea battles and backstage drama in a wildly inventive retelling of the classic story.

Tickets are $35 for members and $40 for non-members, offering an accessible and entertaining season filled with humor and heart. The theater is in Marco Town Center. Look for the bright red door!
