A home repair might seem like a small thing. A leaking faucet, a faulty outlet, or a problem that’s been sitting on someone’s to-do list for months. But for the person living with it, getting that problem fixed can mean one less worry, a safer home, or simply the relief of knowing someone cares.
At Nesbitt Repair, we’ve always believed our work is about more than plumbing, electrical, and handyman repairs. It’s about the people who open their doors to us, the families who trust us with their homes, and the community we’re blessed to serve.
Our mission is Love Your Neighbor. It comes from Mark 12:31: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Those words are at the heart of how we run our business. To us, loving your neighbor means showing up, doing what’s right, and using what we’ve been given to make someone else’s life a little easier. We live it out three ways:
Train the Young. Serve the Widow. Care for the Home.
Train the Young
Loving our neighbors also means making sure someone is ready to serve them years from now.
Nobody learns a trade overnight. And nobody learns it alone. Every good technician had someone who slowed down, answered their questions, and showed them how to do it right.
That’s our apprenticeship program. We partner with Morgan County High School, and our apprentices work right alongside our experienced techs. They learn how to read a whole home, not just fix one thing. And they learn the character behind the craft: patience, honesty, responsibility, and pride in serving someone well.
Our hope is that they stay, grow, and build a good life right here. One repair helps one family today. Raising up the next generation helps families for years to come.
Serve the Widow
Every other Friday, we set aside a full day for something we call Love Your Neighbor Day. Instead of our regular service calls, we spend that day helping individuals and families in our community who may not have the resources to take care of essential repairs.
Our team is on the clock and paid on those Fridays. Nesbitt invests that full day of skilled work in neighbors who need a hand: widows, veterans, the elderly, single parents, and families going through a difficult season.
For someone living alone or an elderly neighbor, even a small home repair can become a major burden. Maybe it’s a leak under the sink, a safety concern, or something that’s been worrying them for months. Whatever it is, our goal is to help lift some of that weight.
We don’t do this because we expect anything in return. We do it because that’s what neighbors are supposed to do for one another.
Serving widows is especially close to our hearts.
Keeping up a home can feel like a lot, especially when you’re doing it without your spouse, or your family lives far away. We never want a widow in our community to feel forgotten.
Ms. Gail Baldwin leads this work as our Widow Care Director, and she does it with so much love. We partner with Neighborhood Missions of Morgan County. They cover the materials, and we bring the skilled hands.
We show up with our tools. But most days, we leave with something better. A good conversation. A new friend. And a fresh reminder of why this work matters.
Care for the Home
Whether it’s a regular service call or a Love Your Neighbor Day, every home gets the same care and respect.
We protect the health of your home, and the loved ones in it. That means honest answers, fair prices, and work you can count on. We only recommend what your home truly needs.
We know we’re not just walking into a house. We’re walking into the place where your family gathers and your memories are made. A place where you deserve to feel safe.
Know a Neighbor Who Could Use a Hand?
The best thing about a community like ours is that people look out for each other. Sometimes it just takes one person noticing.
Maybe it’s someone on your street. An older friend from church. A widow living alone. Or a family that’s had a really hard year.
If someone comes to mind, we’d love to hear about them.
