Your Annual Skin Check Deserves a Spot on the Calendar

Between school schedules, holidays on the horizon, and everything else November brings, skin health can easily slip down the priority list. National Healthy Skin Month is a good reason for our Niceville patients to move it back up.

Daily habits are what matter most. Gentle cleansing, regular moisturizing, and broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher, applied every morning, protect your skin from the sun exposure that adds up living along the Emerald Coast, even outside of peak summer months.

Take time this month to check your own skin as well. Once a month, look over any moles or spots, keeping the ABCDE signs in mind: Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color variation, a Diameter bigger than a pencil eraser, or a spot that’s Evolving in appearance. If something fits, it’s worth a professional opinion rather than waiting to see what happens.

Skin cancer, when caught early, is highly treatable, and an annual skin exam is one of the most effective tools we have for catching it early. It’s a quick visit that can make a significant difference.

If it’s been a while since your last exam, let National Healthy Skin Month be the reminder you needed. Our Niceville team is ready to help.
