Back to Articles

Auburn Parks and Recreation has a full calendar this month, from live performances and art exhibitions to family-friendly activities and festive seasonal events.

The month kicks off with music as the Auburn Community Orchestra takes the stage at the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, March 3, at 7 p.m. Guests can enjoy an evening of classical music performed by talented local musicians.

March 5–6 brings excitement to the court with the Special Olympics State Basketball Tournament, uniting athletes, volunteers, and supporters for two days of spirited competition and community camaraderie.

Art enthusiasts can explore the Spring Invitational Exhibition, running March 9 through April 18 at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center. This show features a variety of new and recent works by selected regional artists and craftspersons, highlighting creativity across multiple mediums.

Families with young children are invited to Breakfast with the Bunny on Saturday, March 21, at Lake Wilmore Park Recreation Center, starting at 8 a.m. This event is designed for children ages 5 and under, who must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required, and the $10 ticket includes a full buffet breakfast and engaging children’s activities. Infants 0–6 months attend free.

Spring fun continues with Bark in the Park on Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at Kiesel Park, co-hosted with CARE Humane Society. Dog lovers and their four-legged friends can enjoy educational booths, local pet vendors, door prizes, dog-friendly activities, and rescue dogs available for adoption.

Bark in the Park kicks off with the 5th annual Tails and Trails 3K Fun Run at 9 a.m. Participants can run with their furry companions in this family-friendly event. Registration is free, and an optional T-shirt is available for $15. To guarantee your T-shirt size, register by Thursday, March 6. Late registrations will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Finally, springtime fun continues with the 6th annual Eggcellent Easter Scavenger Hunt, beginning Saturday, March 28, and running through Wednesday, April 1. Each morning, a new clue will be posted on Auburn Parks and Recreation’s social media, leading participants to a hidden Easter egg at a park or facility. Scan the QR code at each egg to find the next clue and earn a chance to win one of five $25 local business gift cards. Participants can enter once per day for multiple chances to win.

From concerts and art exhibitions to community gatherings and seasonal celebrations, March in Auburn offers countless ways for residents and visitors to get involved, enjoy the outdoors, and make lasting memories.
