Auburn Parks and Recreation: April 2026 Happenings

Back to Articles

April in Auburn brings blooming landscapes, warmer days and a full lineup of ways for families, young athletes and art lovers to enjoy the season. The month begins with the 46th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4, at Duck Samford Baseball Park. Thousands of eggs will be hidden across the fields, and children will search by age group throughout the morning. Pre‑registration is required, and families can also enjoy face painting, balloon animals, inflatables and photos with the Easter Bunny.

The fun continues with the Eggcellent Easter Scavenger Hunt, running March 28 through April 1. A new clue will be posted each morning on Auburn Parks and Recreation’s social media, leading participants to a hidden egg at a different park or facility. Scanning the QR code at each location earns an entry into a drawing for Easter baskets and local gift cards.

Later in the month, young athletes can take on a new challenge at the inaugural Youth Splash and Dash on Saturday, April 18, at Lake Wilmore Park Recreation Center. Kids ages 6–12 will complete a short swim followed by a 2K run, offering a fun and confidence‑building introduction to multisport activities. Registration is required and space is limited.

Creativity shines on Thursday, April 23, when the 21st annual Juried Art Show and Preview Reception welcomes guests to the Historic Nunn‑Winston House at Kiesel Park. Attendees can enjoy an evening celebrating local and regional artists as part of the lead‑up to Auburn CityFest.

The month wraps up with one of Auburn’s favorite traditions, the 25th annual Auburn CityFest, on Saturday, April 25, at Kiesel Park. This free outdoor festival features live music, food and arts vendors, children’s activities and special appearances, offering a full day of entertainment for all ages.

From festive hunts and outdoor challenges to artistic showcases and community celebrations, April offers countless ways to get outside, connect with neighbors and enjoy the best of spring in Auburn.
