I opened Goosehead Insurance in Tuscaloosa on October 1st, 2020, after working in the insurance industry for several years. My typical recommendation is every 3–4 years.
Right now, given the current insurance market, if you have had the same carrier for 3–4 years, it is a great time to check rates! The last 2–3 years have been the hardest insurance market we have seen in 50 years. This was mainly caused by the significant inflation we experienced through COVID. The market has improved tremendously in the last six months and is projected to continue to improve throughout 2026. Insurance companies’ appetites are opening, and we are even seeing rates decrease at renewal.
